the "There is Someone Else Here" meme

Rules:

Roll the RNG 1-20 and choose a location.
Post with your character and the number.
Your character is now in that location and must believe or at least suspect that they are completely alone.
Tag someone with your character; your character is now in that location with theirs.
The second character may believe they are alone, or they may not. Maybe they are looking for the first character, or maybe they are coming after them. Maybe it's just a chance meeting.
Malicious intent/violence is not mandatory, but possible.

1) At home, alone.

2) A forest/wood. It could be day or night.

3) A bad part of town, at night. There is nobody around, and very few street lights.

4) A school. Nobody should be here at this hour.

5) A dilapidated, old hotel. You're stuck, and need a place to stay, but nobody is at the front desk.

6) A hospital. Any kind, and you are trying to leave.

7)  Your car has broken down on a long, deserted road.  It is night.

8) An abandoned farm. There is an old barn, a ruined house, and a scarecrow stuck in a cornfield that goes for miles.

9)  A theme park, complete with circus and house of mirrors.

10)  A morgue.

11) A castle. Nobody comes here anymore, and you don't think anybody lives here.

12) A wharf. There are old warehouses around you, and it's too foggy to see more than several feet ahead.

13) A dark cave. You might have a small light, or not. The rock walls are sharp, and you can hear something in the distance, maybe running water, maybe something else.

14) An abandoned lighthouse. The lamp doesn't work anymore.

15) Shipwrecked on a very small, rocky island. The tide is coming in, and you'll be stuck very soon.

16) A larger boat, maybe even a yacht. The smell of salt is from the sea surrounding you.

17) A completely black room. It's impossible to see a thing, and you can't even feel the walls.

18) A maze. Whether it's hedges or rooms, you are completely lost and nobody is there to help you.

19) A research station. Whether it's the Amazon, the Sahara, or the Arctic, it is not an easy place to reach.

20) Space. Whether a craft of your own, or a space station, you are very alone.

[ Oh she will just be gliding further into the hallway, perhaps stop and wonder if she should look into the library. ]

The little ones, of course.

[He gets up to follow after her, slightly apprehensive.]

W-wait... who are you? How did you get in here?

[ She does pause, but right in front of the library so that the pause lasts only for a few seconds before she is making her way inside, the large doors creaking slightly as they open slowly, cumbersome, to let her in. She seems to be unlocking all those locked doors without any keys... ]

The side door by the training grounds was unlocked.

[ Once inside the library, the scrolls are set down on a table and she carefully strikes a match to light up a little lamp she'd been carrying with her. There are long shadows dancing all over the place now, and she moves to the aisle with the scrolls on medical ninjutsu. ]

It was...?

[Iruka could have sworn the last one out besides him had locked it but apparently not. This woman was proof enough of that. Then again, the fact she was opening locks seemingly without keys was another factor.]

Unlocked or did you unlock it...?

[He follows after her.]

You still haven't told me who you are or what you're doing here...

[ Mito holds the lamp up to try and read the titles on some of the scrolls, moving gracefully along the aisle as she skims the categories those scrolls are sorted into, still looking for a particular one. ]

The locked doors in this building are not impervious to a little fuuinjutsu, you will find, but I can assure you that I did not break in. The door was unlocked.

[ She turns to face him then, the lamp held up just enough to show her face. ]

I had assumed my purpose here was obvious. However, if you must know, then... [ There is the tiniest little twitch at the corner of her mouth then, not really a smile, but only a hint of one. ] I am a scholar, and merely wish to read from this collection.

If all you wanted to do was read then why not come during daylight hours? Why the secrecy?

[He grit his teeth, not liking the fact there was this much suspicious activity happening when he was the only one around. It meant he was in charge.]

You really should be waiting until others are around. This makes you seem more like a thief than someone who simply wants to read.

I was reading. [ She says this calmly before turning to pull out a single scroll with her free hand, reading the top of it. ] But I ran into a doubt only a half hour ago, and therefore had to seek out the library as soon as I could.

[ Mito is a terrible bookworm, if you couldn't tell. ]

... If it makes you feel better, I will record my name on the library register.

I would feel better if you did that, yes... to be honest, this entire situation is just very strange/

[He sighs.]

I'll remain nearby until you're finished. I was supposed to be the only one left tonight.

[ She nods then, turning back to her scroll, those tell-tale seals hanging down from the buns in her hair flitting lightly with the movement. She hangs the lamp on one of the hooks nearby and turns to look up at him again, this time the diamond chakra gathering mark on her forehead, just like Tsunade's, in full view. ]

I must warn you that I may be here most of the night...

[In the light, he seems to find something familiar about her.]

...I probably will be, too.

[ She looks slightly guilty about that, about having to make him wait because of her, but sits on the floor nevertheless and unrolls the scroll in front of her. ]

I apologize for having to make you stay behind. I will try and finish here as soon as possible.

These used to all be in my room, but it seems somebody has transferred them to the library...

[ That was seventy years ago, Mito, what are you talking about? ]

...all in your room...?

[But how could that be? These books were here since he was a child.]

You don't look that much older than myself...

Mm. [ Dramatic pause ] I wrote them.

[ She goes back to her reading, seated there with her legs folded under her, all prim and proper. ]

No, I suppose not, unless twenty five is very old. I would hope not...

[PIME... TARADOX...]

W---what... you said you wrote them... but you're...

[SENSE. NOT. BEING. MADE.]

[ See this face? It is as stoic as ever. ]

I am quite certain this is my signature here at the end of this essay, and this is most certainly my handwriting.
