the
"There is Someone Else Here" meme

Rules:

Roll the
RNG 1-20 and choose a location.
Post with your character and the number.
Your character is now in that location and must believe or at least suspect that they are completely alone.
Tag someone with your character; your character is now in that location with theirs.
The second character may believe they are alone, or they may not.  Maybe they are looking for the first character, or maybe they are coming after them.  Maybe it's just a chance meeting.
Malicious intent/violence is not mandatory, but possible.

1)  At home, alone.

2)  A forest/wood.  It could be day or night.

3)  A bad part of town, at night.  There is nobody around, and very few street lights.

4)  A school.  Nobody should be here at this hour.

5)  A dilapidated, old hotel.  You're stuck, and need a place to stay, but nobody is at the front desk.

6)  A hospital.  Any kind, and you are trying to leave.

7)  Your car has broken down on a long, deserted road.  It is night.

8)  An abandoned farm.  There is an old barn, a ruined house, and a scarecrow stuck in a cornfield that goes for miles.

9)  A theme park, complete with circus and house of mirrors.

10)  A morgue.

11)  A castle.  Nobody comes here anymore, and you don't think anybody lives here.

12)  A wharf.  There are old warehouses around you, and it's too foggy to see more than several feet ahead.

13)  A dark cave.  You might have a small light, or not.  The rock walls are sharp, and you can hear something in the distance, maybe running water, maybe something else.

14)  An abandoned lighthouse.  The lamp doesn't work anymore.

15)  Shipwrecked on a very small, rocky island.  The tide is coming in, and you'll be stuck very soon.

16)  A larger boat, maybe even a yacht.  The smell of salt is from the sea surrounding you.

17)  A completely black room.  It's impossible to see a thing, and you can't even feel the walls.

18)  A maze.  Whether it's hedges or rooms, you are completely lost and nobody is there to help you.

19)  A research station.  Whether it's the Amazon, the Sahara, or the Arctic, it is not an easy place to reach.

20)  Space.  Whether a craft of your own, or a space station, you are very alone.

[ There is a time in which Walter Sullivan tries university life. Being able to finally leave the Wish House (though not quite escaping the Order) meant a lot of eye-opening revelations about how life outside of Silent Hill really worked. It is more than apparent at this point that he is... different. Most of the students his age have lived healthy and wholesome childhoods, with fleshy parents, under a God who was decidedly more forgiving than his own. He has begun to question his faith, though his decision not to express anything regarding religion aloud was made early on.

Walter is a good student. One thing the Order could certainly endow was the motivation to succeed in any task put before oneself. And while Walter is beginning to think the Order's gods may be escapable... His faith in Mother is nigh unshakable. He wants to make Her proud, though he may never be able to see Her for a long, long time. This is also something Walter would also keep to himself if anyone were to ask him.

No one does. Walter feels very alone in a crowd, and has had only himself ever since Bob died (for surely he wasn't adopted - no one had ever been adopted), all those years ago.

So he doesn't really mind when he has to re-enter the college after classes are done for the day and finds it completely hollow. In fact, he sort of prefers it. He's lost one of his books somewhere between his classroom and his dorm and, while it's a shot in the dark, he's hoping he'll find it somewhere, unmolested, in the shell of his class. He can't afford to buy a new one - really, his scholarship barely afforded the last one. ]

[It isn't the safest place to hide, Alessa knows; Pleasant River is still far too close to the Order. She's a little too scared to go too far, though. To some place she knows nothing about. And honestly, she's getting tired of running. It's all she ever does anymore, and it's making her weak - in body, in mind... Which unfortunately also means her abilities are becoming harder to control.

She'd simply picked one of the small couches in the long hallway of classroom doors, and is using it in an attempt to get some rest. To regain strength. But she's too alert to sleep, too busy trying to keep others away... And she thinks that's working - she knows somehow that her pursuers are nowhere near, at any rate.

But Walter is a different story. She neither sees nor hears him coming, because exhaustion is finally winning over anxiety, and the lure of sleep begins to pull her away from awareness.

[ While he's got a good reason to be here, Walter moves as quietly as he can through the empty halls, ever subconsciously expecting someone to shout at him to leave, get out, stay away. Nothing comes, though, and he takes solace in the silence.

He might not have spotted Alessa if he hadn't been scouring the hall for any sign of his book. And coincidentally, as things tend to be for their sort, he took a rest in the same couch Alessa is sleeping in now, waiting for his professor to be free to speak with him.

Luckily for Alessa, Walter doesn't readily recognize her by appearance. They were raised under different sects and separated largely due to the fact that Alessa had a mother there and Walter did not. Seeing someone asleep in the hall, though, after hours, is a bit curious. The young man pauses momentarily, appraising the girl from afar. She almost looked too young to be a student here, but he's no sort of expert on that matter. Did she just fall asleep there between classes, expecting just a nap? Is she sick?

Walter approaches slowly, cautiously, hands coming up to twist around the strap of his schoolbag. Should he wake her? Oh, but he's never been good with girls, even from afar. They hate him, mostly, like to laugh at him and talk amongst themselves whenever he's out of earshot. He's not stupid, though. And even now, while he'd like to touch her to see if she's alright... She'd probably wake up screaming.

So he's just going to stand there for another couple minutes, looking at her. Because that's not creepy at all. ]
