THE QUIET MEME

Rules:

- Post your character with name and canon, and also any preferences.

1. The Quiet Game
The first person to make any sound loses. Do they lose a bet, do they have to buy the next round, or is this just for innocent (or, not so innocent) fun? Are you the one making your partner lose, or are you the one barely able to contain yourself?

2. At the Library/Museum/Church
You're both in a place where making noise just isn't very appropriate. So why do you feel the urge to make some?

3. Do Not Disturb
One of you needs quiet; perhaps they are studying, working hard at a project, or even sleeping. Either way, they've asked you for some peace and quiet. Why can't you just leave them alone? How far will they go to get the quiet they deserve?

4. Sneaky
One of you is sneaking somewhere you really shouldn't be sneaking. Is it illegal, or are you just trying to get a midnight snack? Are you breaking in, or out? Did you overhear something you shouldn't have?

5. Someone is There
Somebody is in the house! Is it your friend playing a prank, or is it more serious than that? Do you know who is there? Are you hiding from them? How afraid are you? Don't give yourself away!

6. Can't Talk
One of you literally can't utter a sound. Maybe someone or something magical stole your voice, or maybe you've just caught a bad cold, but not a peep from you. How's your sign-language?

7. Forced
One of you has been forced to be keep quiet, restrained either by threat or physical force. Is this a game with someone, or is it more dangerous than that? How will you get the other person's attention, or are they the one who forced you in the first place?

[Colette turns when she hears the familiar voice, her lips easing into a small smile as she gives the redhead fellow Chosen a wave. Her hand moving to brush some hair from her face in the wind. The silence enforced on her was nothing complete new at least. She had been through a period where she had lost her voice previously. But Zelos might not click to her silence just yet. She just hoped it wouldn't worry him or any of the others too much.]

[He notices something is off immediately, since she'd normally have greeted him cheerfully in return, but he doesn't understand just what it is. Yet.]

What are you doing out here all alone?

[Colette shrugs, lowering her gaze a little. She had just had trouble sleeping, so she had come outside. She didn't want to wake anyone, otherwise she might have just gone to see Lloyd. In some ways, this reminded her of the Journey, the long nights awake when she had been physically incapable of sleeping. She wonders what brought Zelos out here at this hour, hoping he was all right but unable to ask, at least verbally.]

[His smile drops at that in a bit of realization. Something's really wrong... But even then wouldn't she speak to deny it?

Of course he came out here to get away on his own, but he can't just ignore this. (Or let anyone know that.)]

You're awfully quiet.

[Colette looks to him at the observation, giving a small sigh as her lips turned to a small, almost apologetic smile. Even if she wanted to she couldn't speak. Not with circumstances being as they were. The Chosen didn't want to worry the others though. She had been voiceless before, she could pull through this a second time.

Colette shook her head a little. If Zelos had come here to be alone while the others were asleep she was just in the way. She didn't want to worry him. She had already worried everyone so much, it wouldn't be fair to add to it all.]

[Okay, now he's alarmed.]

Don't tell me you lost your voice again...

[A pause and he places one hand on his hip.] How? Do you know? Is your key crest too weak or something?

[Colette lowers her gaze at that. Of course he would have figured it out, when he was asking questions she couldn't answer, not verbally. But how to even begin to explain that it wasn't that she literally couldn't speak, more that she was forced not to. It was both similar and so different from the time during her Angel Transformation that she had lost her voice and resorted to writing on Lloyd's hand to communicate.

She probably couldn't, or shouldn't even explain about being forced. Zelos and Lloyd would certainly demand to know who had done it. She didn't want to cause any trouble. Colette bit her lip, thoughtful before shaking her head and reaching a hand to her Cruxis Crystal. No; it was not the keycrest Lloyd had made. It wasn't his fault.]

[He frowns, and moves his hand over to lift her chin higher so she can look at him.]

Then what is it? You know, don't you?

[Colette at least merely stays still, unlike the first time Zelos touched her when they first met in Meltokio. Her expression falls a little, unsure how to explain or how much to say. She gives a nod that she knows what it is that's wrong. Because she can't really deny that something isn't right here, and she does know what it is. She just can't tell him outright.]

You need to tell Lloyd.

[This is one of those moments where it's clear just how much Zelos has changed since the beginning of their journey. But he drops his hand and gives her a serious look.]

Well, obviously you can't, but I mean... somehow. Write it out or something.

[Colette pauses for a moment. How could she begin to explain? To Lloyd of all people. Of course she figures he would eventually realize she wasn't talking, but. But she couldn't worry and trouble him like this again. He'd been through worrying about her once he realized what was happening to her through her transformation as an Angel. Wasn't that enough? If she could keep him from worrying....

She bites her lip, uncertain. Part of her knows Zelos is right. The other part is screaming that she should just stay quiet on the matter to not involve him or any of the others. She shakes her head again and seems almost pleading somehow. She can't put Lloyd through this again.]

C'mon...

[It's weird taking this serious sort of tone with Colette, but it seems like an emergency case. And she's never been stupid. ...He places a hand on her head lightly.]

You really think he won't notice? He'll just be hurt if you hide it like this. You know that.

[She closes one eye briefly at that when Zelos puts a hand on her head. Part of her knows he is right. Especially given the same thing had happened before, for the most part, as part of her Angel Transformation and she recalled how well that had gone down (not very). She wants to talk to him, to Lloyd, but she doesn't want to worry them and can't even if she wanted to.]

[Did he even have any place to say anything? Lecturing Colette on something like this... She was a good person. But watching her put herself through this was insane.

...]

Well. [He removes his hand, putting on his goofy act as he looks away.] If you don't, I guess I'll have to!

[Colette shakes her head, reaching for his arm to stop him. She knows why it happened, knows how. But she is sure if she says anything it would only get worse. And she doesn't want to get Zelos involved in it.]

"Lloooooyd! I did it!"

[Apparently that is what he'll be saying who knows but he looks over questioningly.]

No?

[Colette blinks, seeming thoroughly confused as she proceeds flailing at Zelos. W-what did he do? Get Colette to--oh. Lloyd had wanted Zelos to find out what the story was?]
