THE QUIET MEME

Rules:

- Post your character with name and canon, and also any preferences.
- Reply to other characters, using the RNG (1-7) to choose an option.
- Decide on roles and go to it!

1. The Quiet Game
The first person to make any sound loses. Do they lose a bet, do they have to buy the next round, or is this just for innocent (or, not so innocent) fun? Are you the one making your partner lose, or are you the one barely able to contain yourself?

2. At the Library/Museum/Church
You're both in a place where making noise just isn't very appropriate. So why do you feel the urge to make some?

3. Do Not Disturb
One of you needs quiet; perhaps they are studying, working hard at a project, or even sleeping. Either way, they've asked you for some peace and quiet. Why can't you just leave them alone? How far will they go to get the quiet they deserve?

4. Sneaky
One of you is sneaking somewhere you really shouldn't be sneaking. Is it illegal, or are you just trying to get a midnight snack? Are you breaking in, or out? Did you overhear something you shouldn't have?

5. Someone is There
Somebody is in the house! Is it your friend playing a prank, or is it more serious than that? Do you know who is there? Are you hiding from them? How afraid are you? Don't give yourself away!

6. Can't Talk
One of you literally can't utter a sound. Maybe someone or something magical stole your voice, or maybe you've just caught a bad cold, but not a peep from you. How's your sign-language?

7. Forced
One of you has been forced to be keep quiet, restrained either by threat or physical force. Is this a game with someone, or is it more dangerous than that? How will you get the other person's attention, or are they the one who forced you in the first place?

[ Do you think he wouldn't realize that his 14-year-old great-granddaughter was out of the house at 4am?

Have fun trying to get past your great-grandpa now. Luckily he guessed Claudia would try and come in through a bedroom window and was sitting up on the landing of the first floor waiting, so you've got the path through the ground floor to the kitchen free for now. But instinct, or perhaps the slap of a tiny flip-flop against a tiny foot, has him on alert and he's creeping right back at you down the stairs.

This is his turf. He knows where all the creaky floorboards are. You're going down, missy. ]

[Claudia is full of herself, but she doesn't quite have the skills to back up her arrogance like Claire does. She doesn't notice Claire... noticing her, and quietly sheds her flip flops as she tip toes over to the kitchen. She goes slowly at first, crouching low and bending her long, beautiful legs with exaggeration as she crabs over through the threshold of the kitchen door.]

[ Claire pads barefoot down the stairs, peeling each step off the hardwood carefully. The last three stairs are all squealers - he leans to one side and vaults over the bannister instead, fall cushioned by his drop into a crouch and the fluffy hall carpet.

Where would she go, if not straight upstairs? She's not exactly a typical target and her motives are different to what he'd usually consider. He crouches, ears strained in the pitch black for any giveaway, pupils already accustomed to the dark from the hours he's been watching for her. ]

[WTF GRAND-DADDY, FUCK OFF.

Claudia freezes up as her own ears pick up on ... something. She's not sure what it is, but she's disappearing behind the wall of the kitchen and very SLOWLY crawls underneath the table to hide in the darkness there. Her small body fits through the legs of one chair no problem.

Oh God, she is actually terrified. Was sneaking out to see the opening of Breaking Dawn part 2 really worth it?]

[ Having mentally run through the possibilities (looking for the jacket she left in the lounge, going to use the computer, munchies, covered in blood and looking for towels) he starts edging down the hall towards the lounge, passing the entrance to the kitchen on the way.

A dark silhouette moves across the even darker space of the open kitchen doorway as slowly as the passage of an eclipse. The ragged outline of its head turns gradually to look into the room, coming into a beam of moonlight light from the kitchen window which picks out one wide-open eye. ]

[Claudia cowers when she sees his silhouette seemingly glide into the kitchen, folding her body into an egg-like shape as she lowers her chin to her arms. Her bottom lip trembles slightly as she wills crocodile tears to her eyes, preparing for an oncoming lecture. Or worse.

Her own eyes gleam in the dark... somehow, like a cat.]

[ She might just glimpse a glint of white teeth, the edge of a grin in the moonlight, before Claire's silhouette vanishes from the doorway and there's a thump on the table above her.

The top of his head up to his nose appears over the edge as he peeks down onto where she's lying. With his mouth hidden and his eyes open so wide it's hard to gauge his mood. The overdramatic raspy voice might be a clue though. ] Found you.

[With a loud, shrill shriek, Claudia lurches up instinctively, hitting the top of her head against the table hard enough to make it shake, even with Caire's weight atop of it.

There are tears streaming down her face, although they had been in the process of production since before Claire scared the living shit out of her!]

[ Oh boy, he felt that. Claire uncoils from on top of the table and drops smoothly to kneel on the floor in front of her hideaway. ] Whoa, whoa, shhhhhh... [ Pulling her out from under the table by one of her arms and holding her against his chest, menace mode suddenly and totally replaced by soothe mode. ]

[Claudia clings tightly to him, nuzzling her face against his shirt in an attempt to wipe her tears away without having to unclutch at him. Quietly, she whines underneath her breath:] Ohhwhhh... [And sniffles.]

[ Way to pull at his heartstrings. He presses a quick kiss to the top of her head when she makes that noise, lifting a hand to her hair to smooth over it and massage gently into her scalp where he imagines she must have bumped it. He's silent for the moment: lecturing can wait until after this. It's kind of a lesson in itself, really. ]

[Claudia ... wraps her legs around Claire suddenly, to trap his arms and cling like a koala bear!] I'm not letting you go until you promise me you won't punish me! [There's still a whiny note in her tone.]

What about if I broke your legs? [ Murmured softly and without any real threat behind it. He's still got his cheek pressed to those soft red tresses and is halfway to forgetting those hours he spent up worrying about her. You're figuratively twisting his arms even as you literally pin them! ]

Ahaha! [Claudia pulls back to give him one of her devilish grins, crinkling the bridge of her nose. The irises of her eyes are a brighter gold colour now that she's finished crying, and they're surrounded by reddened whites.] Then I'd have to get revenge and bite of your nose, of course!

[She leans in to give him a brief eskimo kiss with the tip of her nose against his, doing it a bit more roughly than necessary.] So don't do it, okay?

[ Claire makes a goofy, acquiescent half-laughing noise that's only slightly cooler than a "hyuk", returning the nose rub slowly. But he doesn't actually agree to her demands. Instead he draws back as far as he can with his arms held hostage so he can look her in the eyes properly. ] So what were you doing out this late?
